My first official Soup-er Saturday :D This soup from my mom-in-law’s kitchen (with a few of my own adjustments) is easy, delicious, and perfect for those chilly fall nights!!! If you’d like to join in the fun hop on over the A Listmaker’s Life and share your fabulous Soup recipe!!! (This is one of those “a dash of this, a pinch of that” recipes…I’ll try to make it a little easier for those of you who don’t cook like that :) )

Homemade Chicken & Dumplings

Boil 3 to 4 chicken breasts, take them out of the water and cut into bite sized pieces.
Return chicken to water and add milk and butter.
(I add about as much milk as there is water and with both combined you only want it to be a little bit above the chicken itself. I do this because I like ours thick and creamy. If you prefer a more “soup-y” dish add more :) ) How much butter just depends on how healthy you want to be or how unhealthy and tasty you want it to be. A few tablespoons is good)
Add seasonings to make it yummy. I love using Mrs. Dash original in this, perfect blend to add some pizazz.
Make dumplings using 2 cups Bisquit and 2/3 cup of milk. Mix together and drop by spoonfuls onto boiling soup. Cook uncovered for 10  minutes and then cover and cook for 10 more minutes. You want the heat to be high/medium high. Enough to make it bubble but not go crazy. :)
